Our first stop is the Great River State Trailhead in Trempealeau, Wisconsin, where the peaceful trails of the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge invite you to slow down and explore. Near the Visitor Contact Station and Refuge Office, you’ll have the opportunity to watch for bald eagles, tundra swans, and other migrating birds from the observation deck overlooking the wetlands.

From there, we’ll continue along the scenic river highway to Lake City, Minnesota — the birthplace of water skiing and home to the stunning shores of Lake Pepin. Guests will enjoy an included lunch at a local restaurant while taking in the charm and beauty of this historic river town.

After lunch, we’ll head north to Frontenac State Park for an easy and picturesque hike along the Sand Point Trail. This gentle 0.6-mile walk leads to Long Beach, where sweeping views of Lake Pepin, towering river bluffs, and local wildlife make for the perfect end to a beautiful day outdoors.

Relax on the comfortable ride back through the countryside as we return to Rochester around 4:15 PM.
