This relaxing 5-day motorcoach tour showcases the charm of Frankenmuth and the timeless beauty of Mackinac Island with guided experiences, scenic travel, and thoughtfully planned comfort throughout.
Your Mackinac Island motorcoach tour from Minnesota begins as we depart for the first day of our journey toward Michigan’s Great Lakes region. Guests will travel aboard a comfortable motorcoach with a professional driver and tour host, making the trip relaxing and enjoyable from the start. As we travel east, sit back and enjoy the changing scenery of the Upper Midwest while getting to know your fellow travelers and settling into the pace of the tour. Throughout the day we will make convenient rest stops so everyone can stretch, refresh, and travel comfortably. The first day of the trip is designed to ease into the adventure while covering miles toward our destination. By evening we arrive at our overnight hotel, where rooms have been arranged for the group. After checking in, the remainder of the evening is free to relax after the day’s travel, enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant, or unwind at the hotel before continuing our journey toward Frankenmuth and Mackinac Island the following morning.
After breakfast at the hotel, we check out and continue our motorcoach journey to Frankenmuth, Michigan, one of the Midwest’s most charming and unique destinations. Often called “Michigan’s Little Bavaria,” Frankenmuth is famous for its Bavarian-style architecture, welcoming atmosphere, and rich German heritage. As we arrive in town, you’ll immediately notice the distinctive buildings, colorful storefronts, and festive character that make this village a favorite stop for travelers from across the country. Guests will have time to enjoy the sights of Frankenmuth and experience the charm of this historic community before we settle in for the evening. Tonight’s highlight is a family-style dinner at the famous Zehnder’s Restaurant, one of Michigan’s best-known dining traditions, where guests enjoy a delicious meal served in classic Bavarian hospitality. After dinner, we check into our local lodging for the evening and enjoy time to relax and explore more of this unique Bavarian village before continuing our journey the next day.
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and spend the morning continuing to explore the charming Bavarian village of Frankenmuth, Michigan, one of the Midwest’s most beloved travel destinations. Our first stop is Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, the world’s largest Christmas store, where guests can browse thousands of ornaments, decorations, gifts, and holiday displays that celebrate Christmas year-round. After visiting Bronner’s, there will be time to explore the Frankenmuth Village shops, filled with specialty stores, bakeries, gift shops, and unique boutiques that capture the spirit of this Bavarian-style town. Guests will have time to enjoy lunch on their own while exploring the village before we depart and travel north through scenic Michigan countryside toward the Straits of Mackinac. By late afternoon we arrive in the Mackinaw City area, where we check into our hotel for a two-night stay, giving us easy access to Mackinac Island. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel to relax and prepare for tomorrow’s highlight—our visit to the world-famous Mackinac Island.
After breakfast, we travel to the ferry dock and board a high-speed ferry to Mackinac Island, one of Michigan’s most famous destinations. Because motor vehicles are not allowed on the island, transportation is primarily by horse and carriage, giving Mackinac Island its unique historic charm. Upon arrival, we enjoy a narrated horse-drawn carriage tour that highlights the island’s history and scenic beauty. During our visit we will also stop at the famous Grand Hotel, where guests can explore the beautiful gardens and public areas of this historic resort. After the tour, you will have free time to explore Mackinac Island, browse the unique shops, enjoy lunch, or sample the island’s famous fudge. Later in the afternoon we return to the mainland by ferry for dinner at a local restaurant, followed by an optional visit to Kewadin Shores Casino before returning to the hotel for the evening.
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and begin our journey home, traveling west through the scenic landscapes of Michigan and the Upper Midwest. Sit back and relax aboard our comfortable motorcoach as we make our way back to Minnesota, with convenient rest stops along the way. This final day gives guests time to reflect on the memorable experiences of the past several days—from the Bavarian charm of Frankenmuth and the wonder of Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland to the unforgettable visit to Mackinac Island and the Grand Hotel. By evening we arrive back home with wonderful memories of our Michigan adventure and new friendships made along the way.
