October 4 - 8, 2026
The perfect mix of sightseeing, culture, and comfort in one unforgettable tour.
Your adventure begins as you depart Minnesota and travel through Wisconsin’s scenic countryside toward the breathtaking Door County Peninsula. Enjoy a relaxing ride with stops at the Door County Candle Company and Door County Coffee, where delightful aromas and local charm set the tone for your getaway. Visit Door Peninsula Winery for a tasting of award-winning wines before checking into The Lodge at Leathem Smith, your comfortable home base in Sturgeon Bay. End the day with a delicious included dinner at the hotel and unwind for the evening.
After a hearty breakfast, meet your local step-on guide for a full day exploring Door County’s eastern coast. Visit Baileys Harbor, take a wagon ride across the causeway to Cana Island, and climb the Cana Island Lighthouse for panoramic lake views. Enjoy lunch on your own in the charming harbor town, then finish the day with an included dinner at the beloved Log Den Restaurant, known for its rustic atmosphere and classic Wisconsin fare.
Set out early for the northern tip of Door County and board the ferry for Washington Island. Discover unique attractions like the Stavkirke Church, Schoolhouse Museum, and Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm. Enjoy lunch near the ferry dock and shopping at Mann’s Mercantile before returning to the mainland. That evening, experience a traditional Door County Fish Boil dinner, followed by a live performance at the Peninsula Players Theatre, America’s oldest resident summer theater — an unforgettable highlight of the trip.
Discover the beauty of Door County’s Green Bay side. Visit Seaquist Orchards for fresh local flavors, stop at the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, and take in the incredible views from Eagle Tower in Peninsula State Park. Lunch is at the world-famous Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant — complete with goats grazing on the roof! Enjoy free time to shop and stroll through one of Door County’s picturesque villages before dinner on your own in Sturgeon Bay.
After breakfast, bid farewell to Door County with a stop at the Canal Lighthouse and the Old Rugged Cross in Sturgeon Bay. On your journey home, visit the Wetherby Cranberry Marsh for a fascinating tour led by a third-generation cranberry grower. Learn how this iconic Wisconsin fruit is harvested and maybe even witness the process in action! Then relax and reflect on your unforgettable getaway as you travel back to Rochester and Eagan.
